Did Obama Accuse McCain of Running a Racist, Xenophobic Campaign?

I'm trying not to sweat the small stuff (at least not this early on), but I think McCain slipped by calling Obama's response to a really dumb ad playing the race card. From a purely strategic stand-point, McCain is probably going to need that phrase later on, and it's going to make him look whiny the second time.
The thing is, McCain ran an ad a month ago (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPARec32KMI) the theme of which was "he doesn't look like the guys on the 100 dollar bill". So saying McCain is doing those things that he is doing is not really playing the race card.

I'm not sure one could fairly characterize that ad's theme as Obama not looking "like the guys on the 100 dollar bill."
And for what it's worth, Obama's words weren't in my view so much a reaction to McCain's ad as they were a reiteration of a previous statement made about a month ago.
McCain's ad, well done or not, threw out the notion that Obama is an empty suit (one with which I don't totally disagree).
Good for McCain for calling Obama and the rest of the Chicago gang out for this nonsense.
