Noted Hyperbolist: Lacking Even the 'Slightest Hyperbole'

Bush and Cheney were, in fact, more brutal in their "enhanced interrogation" than the Gestapo was. And note that I am not engaging in the slightest hyperbole here.

Sullivan's right about one thing. There is nothing 'slight' about that kind of hyperbole. Nothing 'slight' at all...

You know what? I bet to Sullivan it really DOES seem like Bush and Cheney were worse than the Gestapo - nuts as that is - because Bush broke Sullivan's heart when he came out against gay marriage, and every single thing about Bush has become a holocaust to Sullivan, because Bush was his Father-figure and he felt rejected by him.

Sad.

Also very sad that such a talented writer has become such a whackjob.

fwiw, the US Army adopted in the late 80s/early 90s the same basic infantry helmet design used by the Nazis in WWII.

Is this a joke? My father lost 6 brother/sisters to the Nazi's, he watched as the Nazi's burned his parents alive with flamethrowers. Does anyone, anywhere, remember what the Nazi's did?

This exact Sullivan post has verbatim translations of Gestapo "enhanced interrogation" manuals lined up next to the ICRC bullet points of our system and they match up just about point for point. It's not hyperbole when you have source material and you read the words on both samples and they're exactly the same. It's just reading comprehension.

I have to give BumperSticker a hand, as he's the only one here with the balls to come right out and address the point being made. Sure, it's a deeply twisted stamp of approval to inhuman behavior worthy of prosecution, but he's not pretending things he's uncomfortable with don't exist while linking to them. Everyone else seems to have gone for the "I'll just cover my ears and giggle like a twit" rebuttal.

If Sullivan's next act is to link to a picture of a car bomb while observing that it could hurt someone as much as a bomb dropped from an airplane by Nazis, it will also be true, and you will again come off as twits for apparently failing to understand that using the word Nazi in a sentence doesn't make it inaccurate.

I think he's starting to feel all empty without Bush around to hate hate hate. But I think he's dimly aware that his little feller what he wanted in our White House is an incompetent dirty socialist nightmare. If Andy isn't de facto on Mr. Soros's payroll I think he'll put off the day of reckoning for awhile though so it'll be more dramatic is what I'm betting. It's gonna be precious. Someone who reads him really should link that when it happens.

Is this guy really serious? What do we do with such delusional people? What our military has done is not even real torture. Sullivan and the other idiots don't have a clue what real torture is. I think he should be committed to a mental institution. I really do! Maybe it's that liberals are writing all the history books now days and they leave out what the Nazi's really did to please the Jew hating muslims. So many young people don't seem to have a clue these days and that could be one reason why. I think the days of tolerating this nonsense are coming to an end! We've got a neo-marxist in the white house and a congress just as radical. A dominant liberal media keeping the facts from the dumbed down population. A public educational system dominated by a corrupt powerful teachers union all too happy to dumb down the population as long as they're in control and a college system dominated by the likes of Bill Ayers brainwashing our kids with radical communism and pro Islamist sentiment. Something has to give! The Patriots that remain must unite and take it all back or it's over!

In point of fact, Sullivan was more-or-less right. We adopted many techniques that the Nazis used against their enemies - isolation, waterboarding, beatings, threats, taunts, verbal abuse, etc., etc.

For a very simple reason. These work.

Has nothing to do with ideology: Has to do with practicality. If I'm interrogating a guy who has information that could stop terrorists from blowing up Americans by the thousands I am going to do whatever it takes, quickly and efficiently. I'm not going to twist the guy's arm because I hate his religion or choice in smokes, but because because it will save lives. In WWII we carpetbombed Germany. I guarantee that there was nothing in their interrogation manuals that was crueler than that.

Andrew obviously has never done even the slightest bit of his own research into the Gestapo. He probably has no idea what the word Gestapo means, and has no idea how it operated in the Reich. This is because Andrew is an idiot who never thinks before he posts.

Now that he has utterly forsaken any attempt to be an intellectual, can he please give up the pretense that he is a conservative? He is nothing more than an angry gay rights activist. Nothing more; nothing less.
