In Dallas, American Airlines announced that it would match the United offer "because we care," said a company spokesman.
Heh. "We also intend to install footbaths so that our muslim friends can cleanse for prayers before boarding flights..." Yep, that's all folks!
September 12th, 2001
(UPI) Democrats arrested for Treason. That should have been an article.
Impeach Bush for racial profiling! What did W know and when did he know it?
And in other news, former President Clinton joined with his former VP Al Gore in calling for the Bush administration to apply more pressure on Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. Political analysts point out that Clinton took a firm line against Saddam to keep him in check. "The Bush administration is going too easy on Saddam in the name of cheap oil, while the Iraqi people suffer. No more Iraqi blood for oil!"
You forgot a few things, like the fall of Iran mid-2004, the stronger dollar, and the Republicans maintaining control in congress in 2006 that never happened because of Bush's utter mismanagement of this Post-9/11 world.
The weak dollar is driven by the trade imbalance (China). It would have happened either way.
The Republicans still would have shot themselves in the foot with runaway spending and earmark abuse, so they would have lost seats. Speculating on the fall of Iran is comical, like pundits predicting Castro would be overthrown every year since 1960.
'What if the Sept. 11, 2001 attack was thwarted' is a sad commentary on today's Democratic Party. Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry Truman, and John F. Kennedy are turnover over in their graves right now since their party has run amok.
WOW! - and since 9/11 everytime something is thwarted, the left anti-american wing within our own country still has to fight against it. Let down our guard? I don't think so. we accomodate every personal or cultural whim in this country - a hispanic democratic debate? Give me a damn break. Lets see what the rest of the world would do if we brough every ship in our fleets to within 12 miles of our shores and took every infantryman or woman in the world, brought them home and built bases on every border in our country. Protect it at home and let the rest of the world fight it out. You come past our military on our shores and on our borders, we blow you up. Period. Sooner than later, the rest of the world would do anything to get us back in their countries, guaranteed.
The fact is, it did happen. These "What if" senarios make me want to puke! All this hindsite rhetoric is allowable because this is the United States of America. A free and democratic (not democrat) society. This nation did not become the great nation it is, overnight. A lot of blood was shed to make it great and to give the "What if'ers" the right and ability to spot these different senarios. Mr. Elia's article is a good representation of what would have happened. However, a colleague and I were discussing this, and we both agreed that "If it quacks like a duck, and looks like a duck, then it must be a duck!" I applaud Mr. Elia's effort to show how this country would respond to this issue. I will fight for every Americans right to speak his peace. But, the logical man test must be put into play. Thanks!
In the simplest terms, this parody was chilling, and frightingly accurate.
