Too bad that isn't even close to accurate. What a load of crap in the fine spirit of swift-boat. I can see the kind of "fine reporting" that goes on here.
Of course the Clinton thing in Michigan isn't her manipulating the ballot either - she didn't keep anyone off the ballot - they CHOSE not to get on that ballot due to Michigan violating the Democratic party's primary rules. Hillary simply snubbed the rest of the Democratic party and registered anyways. Cheap move indeed, but not manipulation at all. I still hate the bitch. Obama all the way!!
I'm puzzled, too. 'Too bad that isn't even close to accurate' ought to lead to a refutation - but it leads to a confirmation.
I guess that's what swift-boating is - telling the unpleasant truth about a democrat.
How clueless are you.
How did the Clinton's manipulate the ballot? Applying to be listed using a legal and legitimate procedure is not manipulation. Manipulation is when I convince your wife to give me another blowjob because I say your mom is better.
I didn't say Sen. Clinton manipulated the Michigan ballot. Former Sen. Riegle did.
Fact is, in his first race, Barack Obama had every one of his opponents thrown off the ballot. That seems manipulative to me -- your 'tough' talk saying it isn't notwithstanding.
Aren't all politicians manipulative?
Doesn't that usually come with the territory? If you're looking for a squeaky clean, no skeletons in the closet candidate then you probably know nothing about politics in the USA.
I'm not shocked in the least that a Chicago pol engaged in hardball tactics, but don't you find the fact that Sen. Obama engaged in this activity in his first race relevant -- especially considering the fact that he is running as an advocate of 'change'?
I would argue that those seeking to view a Chicago Dem as an agent of change as the ones probably lacking in a complete knowledge of American politics. But maybe that's just me...
Nah, I thought it was a good point too.
But what will be interesting on the manipulation issue is if Hillary needs those Michigan votes to get over the hump for the nomination. Will she "manipulate" the DNC to go ahead and count the Michigan delegates anyway? After all she did beat Mr. Uncommitted.
I believe Riegle (who is and pretty much always has been an idiot) was referring to the moving of the primary to early January. Campaigning in Michigan after Iowa and New Hampshire would have taken lots of money, which Hillary had at the time and it was not obvious Obama or Edwards would have. Personally, I thimk it was an attemot to knock Edwards out of the race back when Hillary supporters weren't worrying about Obama. Now, having Edwards in helps Hillary, 'cause where would those 17% Edwards supporters likely go?
Anyway, Reigle is full of it, as usual, because it's just politics as usual. Whoever can use the rules to get an advantage tries to do so. Welcome to the grownup world.
People REALLY don't know much about Obama. They assume he is clean and nice because the media told them so. In reality he is sneaky and vindictive this is only ONE example. He once vetoed the "born alive infant protection act" making it a crime to assist in leaving a newborn to die, simple because it had Alan Keyes' name on it. (he really hates Alan Keyes) he would campaign in churches saying Keyes was unfairly manipulating the religious crowd, he made such statements in CHURCHES, seems hypocritic but that's just the beginning.
