It comes as little surprise that the
Boston Globe would choose Obama, even though its budget-keepers at the
New York Times will probably endorse Clinton. The reasoning is telling though:
The board wrote that Obama, the Illinois Democrat, fulfills America's need for "a president with an intuitive sense of the wider world,'' and that McCain, the Arizona Republican, ''has done more than his share to transcend partisanship and promote an honest discussion of the problems facing the United States.''
In other words, Democratic candidates should be more cosmopolitan and less American, and Republicans should be, well, less Republican.
