Just as in the last set of riots in France,
we're told this by the AP:
The unrest showed anger still smolders in France's poor neighborhoods, where many Arabs, blacks and other minorities live largely isolated from the rest of society...
Youths, many of them Arab and black children of immigrants, again appeared to be lashing out at police and other targets seen to represent a French establishment they feel has left them behind.
Why are they isolated? And what does "left behind" even mean?
If I had to guess I'd say these aren't people who are eager to assimilate into French society and are being pushed away.
