There is much written by Markos Moulitsas of Daily Kos fame about which to be amused or aggravated.
His description of himself as a "Gulf War veteran," or his insistence that he is a former Republican -- though he became a Dem at age 22 -- are both certainly misleading, but in an amusing kind-of-way.
So is his insistence that he represents the center of American politics -- or his assertion last Sunday on
Meet the Press that the Dems won 56% of the aggregate 2006 US House vote (they won around 52%). The list goes on.
And yes, the fake Chicago-Tough-Guy act so prevalent in his writing is certainly ridiculous and aggravating.
Whether it's his
"Screw them" comments about the gruesome murders of four American contractors in Iraq; or the warning directed at Dem political strategist James Carville over their respective choices for DNC Chair,
"Carville needs to shut the f#*& up. If he wants a war, we'll give him one"; or his statement that it would a
"splendid idea" if, during her visit to Iraq, conservative Michelle Malkin left the 'Green Zone' in Baghdad unprotected -- it's all rather transparent bloviating made by a dweeby little guy.
But, that's his shtick. It works for him from a business perspective, and if some people are dumb enough to buy it ... well Phineas Taylor Barnum couldn't ask for a better protege.
But at some point, one has to draw the line when dealing with such fools, and for me, as a Chicago Cub fan, this is it:
I mean, a guy like me can only take
so much.
