Gentlemen,
Whatever you may think of the syphlitic stutterings of Andy S please keep in mind that nothing that this administration said about Iraq turned out to be correct. Nothing. Obstruction of justice is in fact a crime and while Spiro Agnew was a petty crook and Aaron Burr was a murderer Cheney was the driving force behind Iraq, which has screwed up the whole world. He personally organized and carried out through his subordinates the cherry picking of intelligence to support his case for war and even worse supressed inteligence that refuted his argument. Tens of thousands of people lost their lives as a result of his actions. I know that you don't agree with me on this and that is fine, just remember what you said to justify the Clinton impeachment. If you claimed then that perjury and obstruction of justice is a serious crime then Libby should go to jail. If you gave Clinton a pass because all he did was lie about a private matter to protect his wife and daughter then you can argue for that Libby pardon.
I couldn't disagree more.
First of all, I disagree with you that "nothing that this administration said about Iraq turned out to be correct. Nothing." But for the sake of argument, let's stipulate that view is 100% true. Does that mean that if you're wrong on an issue you should go to jail? I don't think that's what you mean. But if that’s the case, hell, hundreds of elected Dems would get time in the hoosegow for their positions on SS, the minimum wage, and education! Show me evidence that Cheney made material lies before the invasion of Iraq. What were they? If Libby lied to the Grand Jury or the FBI, then he should be punished, but I was taking Sullivan to task for what he said about Cheney, not Libby. Sullivan certainly makes a number of assumptions – without any proof – regarding Cheney. And just for the record, President Clinton lied during the course of a sexual harassment suit, which resulted in him paying Paula Jones $600,000 and being disbarred in his home state. Also, I couldn’t let this statement of yours pass: “Cheney was the driving force behind Iraq, which has screwed up the whole world.” The War in Iraq has screwed up the whole world? Come on…
Andy's drooling, irrational hatred of Bush & Cheney constitutes a derangement.
Its like Brittany Spears, actually, in that you are watching a human train wreck. He's been like this ever since Feb, 2004, when Bush formally came out against gay marriage. Really folks, I don't recognize this fellow anymore. Sure as hell don't read him.
I was tempted to go for the Bears one, just because I'm still an emotional wreck from the Superbowl.
But flipping through his articles, and getting ambushed by one line that managed to pimp his book, make an obscure reference, and then smugly mention how none of his readers would understand the reference all in one line sold me on "tedious bore". But I would have prefered "pretentious bore", or perhaps "pompous bore". Just mentioning it in case you do another one of these.
LOL!!
I couldn't resist putting the Bears reference in there... As for the NFL Championship Game, we lost because we didn't run well enough, we didn't stop the run, we didn't block, and we didn't tackle. We stunk. |
