"the people who spoke against him couldn't prevail against the people who spoke for him,"
Those speaking against him aren't done talking yet, not by a long shot.
"Punch 10"--wonderful! I lived in Chicago for a year, and I'll never forget the nice elderly election staffworker explaining to me how to vote . . . Democratic. "Just punch here and you'll be done."
"So whadtz wrong wit' dat? Da nice old ladee wuz jus' tryin' ta help ya..."
it is a very conventional pattern for anyone in a minority group to be supported when he or she is in trouble with a majority group...witness, for example, the OJ Simpson trial.
As a comment noted: not over and crime wil be outed if it was done. Meantime, no need to get riled about this very common happening.
Isn't that part of the problem though?
This isn't a case of someone being denied a promotion because of discrimination. If a minority group sees Jefferson's troubles (or OJ's) being with "the majority" or "the man" rather than with the social order, something is wrong from the get-go.
Sure, why get riled over a guy using the National Guard to go clear out evidence from his N.O. home while people were still getting plucked from rooftops. Not exactly what we sign up for in the Guard...
Also, are you suggesting that $100,000 cash bribes to Congressmen is a "very common happening"?
The black caucus: they all lean far left and they don't have a problem with overt corruption, they even applaud it. One of the biggest factions in the dem party and Nancy Pelosi is absolutely beholden to them.
Worse, Roll Call is reporting today that Jeffersonillegally used Congressional staionery and franking privileges to send out an appeal for more campaign money.
As a guy from New Orleans, please impeach this guy ASAP. He got elected because Karen Carter was worse - see here.
[http://news.asianweek.com/news/view_article.html?article_id=516282f5e4185d6dbde1548fa933e23d] The sooner Jefferson gets impeached, the sooner we can elect someone qualified (that is, neither Jefferson nor Carter). ~M
This just further illustrates that the CBC is nothing more than a nest of corruption. They applaud felony theft.
I'm sure Rep. Mollohan will be right on it with his oversight of the FBI.
The best possible thing Dems could do is prosecute this guy *first*.
Then when they hoist the dozen or so GOP crooks that deserve it just as much, no one can cry "Foul." But my pathetic party won't do the right thing. I hate them almost as much as the GOP. A pox on them all. |
