He left out the whole "We're living in a dictatorship..." speech from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Let's follow the "Professor's" logic. Democrats win back Congress in 2006 = Elections fair and upright. No need to look into any voting anomolies, particularly in Chicago, Wisconsin or New Mexico. Republicans retain Congress in 2006 = Elections stolen, crooked, and the people should rise up and cast off their fascist overseers. Someone should explain to this "academic" (and I use the word loosely, the way people use the word "athlete" when discussing card players) that if democracy only works when one side wins that it's not really democracy, is it? Then, let him take his Prozac and hope for the best.
Here -- http://www.opinionjournal.com/best/?id=110008574 -- you can observe the noteworthy case of a Ph.D. in political science who does not know that constitutional amendments are not subject to judicial review.
The rocket-sled to hell is running right on time.
I'm going to take him at his word and start cheering now. We win the election in 2008! Hurray!
That post and the comments thereafter only serve to remind me why I vote Republican even when they do piss me off on some issues.
The left forgets that if they want to start a revolution, our side has the guns.
That is what you get for believing in gun control.
Dude,
Professor Crispin is a professor of Culture and Communication. You better not mess with a baaaaaaaad dude like that.
Hey Mark, you know what? You may have the guns, but you sure as shit don't have the brains. And I'd rather be what I am--a smart man with no gun--than what you are, which is a moron with a gun.
Hey Howard. How about being a smart man with a gun? Is that ok? It was the NYU professor calling for revolution, not Mark. Mark's statement was simple observational fact. If you deny the fact of his assertion, then either prove that Dems have the most guns, or prove that Mark is a moron.
Address what he said instead of trying poorly to insult him. The nut-job NYU professor calling for revolution if the Dems fail, yet again, to win an election is guilty of many things, stupidity not being the least. He calls for revolution. Think about what that would mean for just a second. He did so too without specifying what he is willing to sacrifice in said revolution. I'd bet he would not lift a finger physically to do anything. What is he going to use to usurp the elected officials? Harsh language? Sit-ins? Teachable moments? Consciousness raising seminars? It is illegal to attempt to overthrow our government. Duh. If the bonehead really wants to do something, build a case and take legal action. If a case can not be built, then it doesn't take a PhD in Culture and Communications (aka waste of a sheepskin...) to figure out what's going on.
Resident brainy intellectual type Howard opined;
"Hey Mark, you know what? You may have the guns, but you sure as shit don't have the brains. And I'd rather be what I am--a smart man with no gun--than what you are, which is a moron with a gun." Howard's trenchant observations have subjected to various mild ridicule from various forum denizens. But in defense of Howard, let me point out what he must be talking about. All those brainy intellectual types use their brain power to do Jedi mind tricks, against which mere firearms are useless. So there, Mark!! Be afraid!! Be very afraid if all you Repugs still another election!!
As Narniaman pointed out, geniuses like the good doctor and Howard can split atoms WITH THEIR MINDS!!!!!.
What can 100 million plus Americans with "fully automatic bolt action sniper assault revolvers" (Copyright American Hoplophobe Inc) do against power like that ?!?! Howard, you want to know what we call a genius without a gun, once he gets done going up against a "Moron with a gun"... DEAD...ya jackass
Mordie,
COME ON MAN!!! GET WITH THE PROGRAM!!! They aren't bolt action, they're fully automatic muzzle loaders... surf
Howard, if you have no gun, but your opponent does, are you really that smart? No, you're an idiot, and a dead one at that. But then you're a lefturd, so the idiot part is automatic, you just need to be completed.
Howard, if you don't have a gun, but your enemy does, are you really that smart? No, you're not. In fact, it makes you an idiot, or a liberal; the terms are interchangable.
Dangnabbit! Professor Mark Crispin Miller is definitely on to our eeeeviiiiiilll Republican plot now.
Oh well, that's okay. I sent a shortwave transmission today to Karl Rove's secret underground lair beneath the White House and asked him to put out a contract on the good doctor. With any luck, Dr. Miller's brain will soon be turned to jelly by "Rove Rays" or, better yet, we'll suck out all his precious bodily fluids. He'll never know what hit him. Bwahahahahahahahahahaha! Incidental Note: If an academic is listed by all three of his names in his articles, that almost invariably means he's really, REALLY smart, very, VERY important, and has TONS of incredibly interesting and insightful things to say. N'est-ce pas?
Bring it on, bookboi
Nothing would make productive, decent non-parasitic Americans happier than a chance to debride dead tissue from the body of the nation IF. ONLY.
When my friend Hector asked why I spent my inheritance on two AK-47s, an FN-FAL, two Winchester pump 12gauges and several pistols I reminded him that someday the moonbats would boil over and seek establishment types to harass, vandalize and worse. I've seen this sentiment Mr.Miller is espousing close up and I estimate that at least forty million americans share it. This man is not joking. The violence we saw in the 2004 election is nothing compared to the thuggery that will abound in 2006 and 2008. The Kossacks and DUers are not all talk.
Howard should remember that a gun is only a tool, much like a screwdriver.
For example, if Howard had a screw loose, would he rather be the smart guy with no screwdriver or the dumb guy with the proper tool? While the dumb guy only could fix the loose screw and go on with his life, the tool-less smart guy could recite the virtues of bolts over nuts (especially in Iraq) and wax poetic about how all the smart guys should revolt if Karl Rove keeps screwing the Democrats out of elections. Granted at the end of the day, Howard still would be standing around his parent's garage apartment, gazing wistfully at his masters degree (17th Century French literature--no Cliffs Notes there), with a screw loose. Nonetheless, judging from his Sixth Grade bon mot, Howard seems the type who lacks both tool and the brains to use one. This makes futile any attempt to explain that in a revolution, the dumb guy with a gun (and the willingness to use it) usually beats the unarmed smart guy every time.
It never fails to amaze me how the moonbats love to engage in such un-American activities as treason (NYT), espionage (NYT), and in Professor Crispin's case, sedition and fomenting revolution. But don't question their patriotism.
They love their country so much that they want to dispense with messy democracy (but just long enough for them to regain power, then we can have democracy back again) and unassailable legislation by the non-legislative judicial branch of gov't. But its all for our own good, because we kids just don't know better and we should defer to the adults (them). BTW, I have a 12ga shotgun, and AK47 and a 9mm handgun, with lots of ammo for each. I got your Ukraine right here, moron.
There's no one less tolerant and close minded then a tolerant and open minded liberal.
This squirrel needs to get a new speech writer. No where, mind you NO WHERE did he refer to hitler or stalin. (that's right, no upper case) Jeez, what's up with that?? Aw crap, my pet squirrel just bit me. Sorry squirrels, no offence intended. (scampers off to play with the yard rabbit)
I would be helpful if someone would ask this academic zombie what the Ukrainian "orange revolution" was all about. Could it be that the Ukrainian people are fed up with leftist lies, corruption and coverups of major genocides, by the New York Times and other liberal publications, of the past? My take is that Americans are tired of the Clinton/Gore mix of snake oil passed off as liberalism in this country.
So according to the Prof's logic, if I believe the Democrats are cheating, I'm justified in ignoring any government/laws/taxes created by them?
Cool.
'the need for the people to rise up -- like the Ukranians did -- and revolt.'
Go for it! BRING IT ON!!!!! In the words of my personal hero Eric Cartman 'DIE, HIPPIE, DIE'
I am glad this jerkoff told us because if these guys fight a civil war like they would have us fight the war on terror we just weren't going to notice otherwise.
"OMIGOD! Precinct 407 in Midland County, Texas just went 58% Republican! We demand sanctions!"
Typical liberal - all talk and no action. A lot of them also said they would leave the country if Bush won in 2004 and of course they didn't. As far as election fraud is concerned, the Demorats are the champions of stuffing the ballot boxes with the votes of the dead, felons and other ineligbles. What they are really upset about is that they lost the elections despite their fraudelent compaigns and election tricks.
I hope the lefturds lose in a landslide and go into open revolt, with burning, looting, and general mayhem, evolving into a full-blown revolution, because that'll be a good excuse to mow them down.
