Above board, maybe, but still crass and childish. I'm of the school thats says ambassadors should have a little tact.
Ammbassador Wilson has a little tact. In fact very very little.
Heck, it's not only above board, it's CLASSY. /New Jersey accent
This reminds me of the primary reason Americans voted for W--they were tired of the overt sleaze that is associated with the Democrat party. Wilson is just another fine example thereof. Not that the GOP doesn't have its own version of sleaze, but at least it's simple, payola sleaze that the country club keeps quiet, as opposed to white trash sleaze. Certainly, bribery is scummy. But being bought off isn't nearly as public and pathetic as sticking a cigar up your mistress while your chief of staff sucks toes.
Yeah, wanting to punch somebody in the face, calling your political opponents homosexuals and referring to a columnist as a douchebag. Real above board. I'd hate to see him do something you'd consider 'below board'. Shooting his opponents, perhaps? Or, possibly you'd agree with that, too.
That was hilarious!
Thanks for reprinting it. Like many progressives who are overwhelmed by the amount of destruction this administration has caused, in almost every area imaginable, he simply cannot contain his outrage any longer. Thanks, Joe, for telling it like it is.
Your very response speaks volumes about the kind of 'progressive' you and guys like Wilson represent....
Now, even Wilson's off-the-wall remarks are the fault of this administration.
Are you being sarcastic? I mean, nothing's bush's fault.
Please tell me what is "progressive" about acting like and speaking like a child?
This is definitely the kind of mature and wise man I want to rely on for analysis of WMD material procurement.
Come on, Wilson got outed as a liar by the 9/11 Commission for all to see and as a mouthpiece for the CIA Op's trying to CYA and who should have been brought up on treason charges for blowing 9/11 as bad as they did. Cowards and losers. Bush should have just fired the lot of them and denied them pensions.
What's really pathetic is that he obviously felt comfortable saying those things in public forum. The crowd must have been egging him on.
Funny how those who applauded the Vice President's vulgarities on the Senate floor - the Senate floor! - now ask for "civility" from a man whose wife's career and service to the country were trashed by that very same Vice President for political purposes. Funny.
Did Cheney make that comment on the microphone for all the world to hear? No, he made a deserved, if coarse, retort to a preening, hypocritical Senator Leahy that was overheard and reported. Ambassador Wilson is making his adolescent trash talk from behind a podium, intending for everyone to hear and applaud.
Funny how those who applauded outing an undercover agent for political purposes are outraged by the outing of a homosexual who only has a career because of his efforts to exploit, demonize and criminalize homosexuality. Funny.
"Funny how those who applauded outing an undercover agent for political purposes are outraged"
What We Know 1. Plame was not an undercover agent. 2. On Plame's recommendation the CIA sent Wilson to Niger ostensibly to investigate whether Saddam had attempted to purchase uranium.(Wilson apparently had other reasons for going) 3.In Niger Wilson and was told that Saddam wanted to establish commercial relations with Niger which the Nigerians understood as wanting to acquire uranium since they have nothing else Iraq would be interested in. 4. Wilson issued an oral report to the CIA rather than a written report. His report contained the facts set out in para 3 above. 5. Without seeking approval from the CIA Wilson then contacted friends in the media to leak a fabrication about what he had found (and reported) in Niger 6. In an attempt to destroy Bush's credibility and undermine American foreign policy Wilson lied about what he had found in Niger and what he had reported to the CIA. 7. Wilson then wrote a book and went on a speaking tour repeating his lies. This had the effect of undermining the war to liberate Iraq. 8. The left dominated MSM failed to expose Wilson as the liar that he is but in fact continued to provide him with a platform to tell his lies - lies which damaged the credibilty of his country's foreign policy and caused the deaths of American soldiers. What we may conclude 1. Wilson did not go to Niger to seek the truth. When he was given facts which supported the administration's position he lied about what he was told. 2. Wilson has undermnined the defence of America with his lies. He is a traitor. 3. When he went on his speaking tour Wilson knew it was inevitable that Plame would be outed as as CIA agent. (In fact that may have been part of the plan) 4. Bush should have declassified the NIE report and exposed Wilson directly. 5. Bush need a more aggressive communications strategy. 6. While Bush is not Churchill the cause is as just and the campaign needs the support of all good men and women.
Can somebody tell me why I should care what he says?
I have frankly reached the point where I don't worry about what our friends on the left say, it can be predicted so easily that the confirmation proves nothing. It's like dealing with my 12 year old son, I just plain don't expect better from any of them anymore so I don't bother to worry about them, or about those who choose to use them to prop themselves up.
P.,
Please DO expect more from your son! After all, he has a lot of growing up still to do--and will only mature if there are higher expectations. If you do not expect more from him, then you may find him to be a grown man with a 12 year old's mind, like, umm...someone who wants to punch rather than debate his ideological opposite.
It's impossible for me to read these without hearing them spoken by Drunk Homer.
"Zalmay Khalilililazad? I'd like to punch him. Rrrright in th' face. . (But YOU I like.)"
"Ann COULTER says I can't get a JOB. I'd like to punch her. Rrright in th' face. I've had LOTS of jobs...Ambassador Wilson...Ambassador Joe Wilson...Ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV (that's m'favorite)...SuperSpy... editorial writer...my wife only got me those last two."
"Valerie (that's m'wife-she's'spy...'sbig secret SSSSHHHHH!!) Anyway, Valerie says I shouldn't say 'douchebag'. I'd like to punch my wife. Rrrrright in the douche."
I would suggest that Joseph Wilson III owes us an apology for giving us Joseph Wilson IV.
I agree with the above statement that Joe Wilson is like Benedict Arnold.
Joe Wilson, what a bloated mess. As for "outing" David Dreier, nobody in his district cares. It's a solidly conservative sliver of Southern California, called "The Inland Empire." It's NASCAR America, they believe in working hard, playing hard and minding their own f'ing business. You can be gay in the "I.E." but you can't be a sissy. Dreier has done a lot for the region and has proven he's no sissy. His position is strong, he ain't going anywhere.
> I wasn't really all that surprised hearing it from Ann. After all, she is a rather manly woman.
Well, he does have that much right -- She is more of a man than he could ever be...
I am a Republican proud and true and it is crap that we have homos at the top level, that is the other side with homosexuals like Kerry and Clinton!!!
W. now that is a real man!!!
DaviesJ,
If you're a Republican, I'm the centerfielder for the Chicago Cubs.
So what comment was it you thought was not correct? Seems to me you assholes are taking the same liberties. Got anything more substantial?
1) The Italian document implicating Iraq was proven to be counterfeit.
2) There is no way Niger could sell Iraq Uranium without the whole world knowing. 3) Iraq had no nuclear capability and had NOT reconstituted it's weapons program 4) Aluminum tubes were not suitable quality for Uranium enrichment. You sorry suckers are hanging on to a technical thread because Bush only INSINUATED Saddam was a Nuclear threat. How sorry you must all feel to have committed yourself so early to such a LOSING proposition. You are all in serious DENIAL.
1) Bush's comments didn't rely on the Italian docs. Read what the Butler Commission said.
2) It appears that many in the world knew of Iraq's efforts to buy uranium from Niger (France, Italy, Britain all come to mind). 3) You are right that Iraq had no nuclear weapons program, but that's what we thought around 1991-1992 as well, and found out we were dead wrong. 4) You are right about the aluminum tubes. Iraq is not a losing proposition, there, John. But clearly I'm not as smart as you, so I await your further insults. Thanks for writing! |
