You shouldn't "almost" feel sorry for the French. They did it to themselves and they are getting exactly what they deserve. This is exactly what happens when you allow such a high percentage of Muslims into your country. Muslims don't want to assimilate into Western culture, they just want to live the good life until enough of their backward people decide to declare independence. France can burn in hell for all I care.
Unfortunatly for us if the French mess up here it effects all of us.
I've predicted for years now that WWIII will be fought in Europe and be related to this little problem that we are seeing right now.
To say that something is "unacceptable", and at the same time not to do anything about, is to say that you accept it. De Villepin is saying that he accepts the "rioting" and isn't going to take any serious measures. Police morale must be below rock bottom.
My daughter spent the 2000-2001 school year in Montpellier and commented on the rudeness, aggressiveness, and fear mongering displayed by the North Africans. Nobody, even the French, deserve the wrath of the Islamo-fascists.
I love France and the French, but it's hard not to feel a sense of grim satisfaction at this. After all, they actively set out to sabotage us at the UN over Iraq and never lose an opportunity to chide us - even over hurricane Katrina.
#12 gazzer:
it's hard not to feel a sense of grim satisfaction Comment dit-on "schadenfreude" en Francais?
Hmmm, here's my conspiracy. The scum, er, thugs, ah, youths are buring all these cars. Cui bono? Well, it's obvious: Big Auto. I say Big Auto is orchestrating the riots behind the scenes. Look how many cars they need to manufacture to replace all the torched ones and we all know the Jews own Big Auto. The Jews were told to get their cars out of town. The Jews are behind the Muslim riots.
Maybe I'm the first to report the truth.
Vive! Jabba. You have found out the truth. It makes so much sense.
If there is one thing the French love, it's themselves and their culture.
I believe the pushback from this will be swift and vicious.
The kids who were rioting were 14 year olds - in Y9 at school - a couple of my friends who were French schoolteachers told me about the ridiculous situation - they overheard some of the 'rioters' saying - okay , what shall we riot about next week - the number of immigrants? These were for the most part young people who did not have a political conscience - they merely enjoyed the 'agro'!
