Say what you want about Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, but he and his brother William are amongst the small group of the real Pros from Dover in the Democratic Party -- a fact that was once again on display Wednesday at the US Conference of Mayors winter meetings in Washington, DC.
The
Chicago Tribune's Katherine Skiba reports that in remarks at the opening news conference of the meetings,
Mayor Daley "decried the the mindset of the nation's capital, saying 'the real world does not exist in Washington' ... Daley also urged federal officials to stop bashing Wall Street. 'You can rap and beat up the business community on a daily basis in Washington, but they create jobs,' he said. 'Government does not create jobs.'"
It looks like the adults in the Democratic Party have decided to grab the party's steering wheel from its more destructive elements...
